Every Year 6 student who is enrolled at Melville Senior High School for 2026 has been sent a letter advising them of the Transition Day and what they need to bring with them on the day.

The Transition Day will include the following: -

· A welcome assembly and tour of the school

· Activities that focus on getting to know each other and develop skills for working together as a team

· Sample learning area activities and introduction to some of the key MSHS staff for 2026

· Recess and lunch activities that will provide opportunities for the students to interact with each other and get to know their 2026 peers

The day starts at 8:30am at the front of the school, and to ensure the day starts on time it would be appreciated if students arrive and sign in at 8:25am. At sign in the Year 6 students will be greeted by our Peer Mentors, who will be working with your child throughout the day and helping them to settle into their new surroundings. The day ends at 2:45pm, with the students being dismissed from the front of the school.

Time: 8.30am – 2.45pm

Items needed: Hat, sunscreen, drink bottle, pen, a packed recess and lunch or money to purchase from the canteen if preferred.

Dress: Students are to wear their current primary school uniform

Please be aware that students in our Specialist Programs may have been requested to attend the alternate transition day compared to other students from your Primary School. This is to provide an opportunity for the Specialist Program students to meet one another whilst at the Transition Day
