Year 2 Excursion: Earth Day Expo

The Earth Day Expo involves professionals from different environmental organisations providing five different dynamic "hands on" interactive activities for the students. Examples include learning about microplastics, the importance of bees in the ecosystem and Noongar connections to wetlands and rivers. The excursion runs from 9.30am - 2.15pm. The cost is $23.30 per student.

Date: Friday 4th April 2025

Time: 8.50am bus departs
2.30pm bus returns

Venue: Canning River Eco Education Centre, Corner of Kent Street and Queens Park Road, Wilson.

Educational Purpose: The Earth Day Expo provides learning opportunities for students to...
Explore their local environment and pose interesting questions, inferences and predictions.
Learn about the biology of plants and animals and how they grow and change at different stages of their lives.
Understand the important of caring and protecting different ecosystems.

The Expo also allows educators to learn more about some of the different environmental organisations within Perth with opportunities to pursue additional learning in the future.

Supervisory Team: Class teachers and EAs

Items Required: A packed recess and lunch, enclosed footwear, hat and water bottle all clearly labelled with your child's name.

Cost per student: $23.20
